Kalverstraat & Leidsestraat

The two main shopping streets in Amsterdam’s city centre are the Kalverstraat and the Leidsestraat. Here you will find most, international and national, chain stores, such as: H&M, Zara, Esprit, Jack & Jones, Blokker (Dutch household store), Sissy-Boy and many, many others. In between these major brands you will find some independent stores, worthwhile visiting.

The two streets are connected by the Heiligeweg, where you will find brands such as Puma, Diesel and MAC Cosmetics.

The Kalverstraat runs from Dam Square to Muntplein and is split in half by the Spui. The Leidsestraat runs from Koningsplein/Flower Market to Leidseplein (Leidse Square). These two streets can be packed on the weekend. To have a more relaxed shopping experience, try to be in town before or around noon.
