This concert hall is world famous, just like resident Het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest (The Royal Concert Hall Orchestra). Experts from all over the world praise the perfect acoustics of Het Concertgebouw.

Melkweg opened its doors in 1970 in a deserted dairy factory in the centre of Amsterdam, close to Leidseplein.

The beautiful main theatre (De Grote Zaal) is built in Barok style. The Stadsschouwburg hosts dance performances, cabaret, concerts, but mainly stage plays from residence Toneelgroep Amsterdam (Theatre Company Amsterdam).

English speaking visitors can visit Toneelgroep Amsterdam's stage plays on Thursdays, when the plays are guided by English surtitles. Or you can visit one of the dance performances.
