The Van Gogh Museum
The Van Gogh Museum contains the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world. It provides the opportunity to keep track of the artist's developments, or compare his paintings to works by other artists from the 19th century in the collection. The museum also holds an extensive offer of exhibitions on various subjects from 19th century art history. The Van Gogh Museum is on Museumplein in Amsterdam, between the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. The Van Gogh Museum is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00. On Friday until 22.00. Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
See the Old Masters Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum. Stedelijk Museum (being renovated)
![]() The Stedelijk’s original 1895 building on the Museumplein is currently undergoing major restoration. The museum is also being extended by the construction of a spectacular new building. The Stedelijk will soon, once again, be the place to see classic modern and contemporary art.
The Stedelijk Museum is opening its doors temporarily, 28 aug 2010 till 9 jan 2011, and brings you two exciting new exhibitions of contemporary art: Taking Place and Monumentalism.

The Anne Frank House
The former hiding place, where Anne Frank wrote her diary during World War II, is now a well-known museum. The museum tells the history of the eight people in hiding and those who helped them during the war. Anne Frank's diary is among the original objects on display. The Anne Frank House is located at one of the major canals in the city centre. There are trams and buses that stop nearby, at the 'Westermarkt' stop. The Anne Frank House is open daily from 9 am - 7 pm (in summer till 9 pm).

The Rembrandt House Museum
The house where Rembrandt lived between 1639 and 1658 is a museum. In the same year he bought the house, he was awarded the prestigious commission to paint the Night Watch. An arthistorical tour of the museum is possible on request. A professional guide will take you through the rooms of Rembrandt's seventeenth-century home and studio. Hermitage Amsterdam
The Hermitage museum is the Dutch branch of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg (Russia). There are two permanent presentations, one about Netherlands–Russia relations and the other about the history of the building. In the rest of the museum is a temporary exhibition of six months. The entrance of the Hermitage is on the River Amstel side. From there you enter the garden and are directed to the ticket desk. Hermitage Amsterdam is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesdays to 8 pm.
