Bar Bump Bar Bump is a large bar on two floors. Downstairs a more clubby atmosphere is created, with live DJ's and sometimes live acts. The upstairs area has a more intimate atmosphere. Bar Bump is an initiative of the men behind Prik, a successful, relaxed gay bar in the Spuistraat that was voted best gay bar a numerous times over the past few years.		De Engel van Amsterdam De Engel van Amsterdam (The Angel of Amsterdam) is a gay bar with a friendly and open character. De Engel attracts a mixed crowd of all ages and styles and has a nice terrace.

Bar EVE Bar EVE (former ARC venue) is a big, trendy lounge bar, with a new interior, with warm, dark, earthy colours and golden details. EVE will be lightened up with a fire place and will consist of a bar area and a restaurant area. EVE offers many cocktails and luxurious finger food.		Habibi Ana As the first and only Arabic gay bar in the (Western) World, Habibi Ana opened its doors in 2001. The objective was, and is, to give Arabic gay men a safe haven for a nice night out and meet other (Arabic) gay men.

De Lellebel The Lellebel (The Slut) offers live shows, theme nights and events seven days a week the whole year round. The focus of The Lellebel is towards the transvestite, transsexual, gay and lesbian community. The Lellebel opened its doors in 1997 and still has a loyal following.		Café-Bar Ludwig II Café-Bar Ludwig II (former April venue) is one of the new gay bars in what once was THE gay street of Amsterdam. Ludwig II - now owned by Casper Reinders, who is also owner of fashionable places in Amsterdam like Jimmy Woo, Lion Noir and Bo5 - is said to become one of the highlights of the street, with a completely new - Ludwig II-over-the-top? - interior. Café-Bar Ludwig II aims to attract a fashionable gay crowd, but in a 'straight-friendly' way. The front part of the premisses will be opened as coffee bar, daily, as early as 2pm; while an exclusive lounge bar in the back opens later in the evening from Thursday till Sunday.

't Mandje In 1927 Bet van Beeren became the owner of Café ’t Mandje (The Basket). Bet was openly gay, which was very unusual & daring in those days. ’t Mandje has been closed for 25 years, before opening again in 2007. The years that it has been closed, the interior was kept the way it was. Before reopening ’t Mandje it has been renovated, but in a way that it still resembles ‘t Mandje as it used to be when Bet van Beeren was the owner.		Prik “Queer or not, Prik is hot!” This is the slogan of small but incredibly relaxed Prik. Away from the main gay areas, Prik has managed to get a loyal following and was voted best Amsterdam (gay) bar in 2009. The staff is extremely friendly and always have a smile on their face. Prik (a colloquial word for soft drinks because of the effect of the bubbles in them) serves white and rose prosecco on the tap, has numerous cocktails and yummy finger food to go with it.

The Queen’s Head The Queen’s Head is a camp pub on the Zeedijk, in the middle of the Red Light District. Although frequented a lot by drag queens, the Queen’s Head offers a wide variety of events for as many different type of gay men. The bingo nights on Tuesdays are infamous.		Saarein2 Saarein2 is a split-level lesbian bar, where men are also welcome. Besides the relaxed atmosphere and quality beer the main attraction of Saarein2 is the pool table.

Café SoHo Soho is one of the biggest gay bars of Amsterdam and has a classic pub style interior with fine wooden panelling, mirrors, a fire place and a library. Through a stately staircase you go to the first floor. For the re-opening on March 3rd, 2011 a dance floor was created on the ground floor and a cocktail bar and a separate smoking area upstairs.		Vivelavie Bar for lesbians where everyone is welcome. This is how Vivelavie advertises herself. Vivelavie exists about 30 years and is one of the most popular and busiest bar were women from all over the world meet each other for a date, a flirt and a nice evening. The Vivelavie has a relaxed atmosphere with various music: from lounge and classics in the afternoon to dance later in the evening.

Cruise

Argos Argos is the oldest leather bar in Amsterdam. Dress code is leather, army, jeans, etc. Gay men often cruise around in the Warmoesstraat, going from Argos to Eagle, Cockring and Dirty Dicks, leaving their coat at one of these bars.		Club Church Church is the most popular cruise club at this moment. This probably has something to do with the ‘cute’ venue, but more so with the wide variety of special events that are being organised. Almost every evening there is another theme, catering most fetishes.

Cuckoo’s Nest The Cuckoo's Nest is a gay men's bar right in the centre of Amsterdam. The Cuckoo’s Nest opened in 1984 as a leather bar and now has quite a mixed patronage, albeit still quite fetish oriented. Probably the main attraction of the Cuckoo's Nest is its darkroom, reputed to be one of the larger ones in Europe.		Club Fuxxx Club Fuxxx is a new club on a well known location: former Club Cockring. Club Fuxx has a complete new management and has transformed Club Cockring into a new dance and cruise club, with 2 bars a dance floor and new play areas.
