Gay Art by Eddy Varekamp in AmsterdamEddy Varekamp is an Amsterdam based artist, whose work consists of watercolour paintings, prints in various techniques and hand painted ceramics.

Though not all of his art works are sexually orientated, many are of a sweet erotic nature and show male gay nudes – often in explicit poses - as well as lesbian and mixed couples.

Gay Night in Pathé De Munt

Gay Nights - Gay movies at Cinema Pathé De Munt in AmsterdamPreviously called "Gay Classics", Pathé cinema De Munt now presents: Gay Night. Every first Wednesday of the month they show new and old movies that have a gay theme, or that have a gay following. The evening starts with a welcome drink at the bar in the foyer. Just present your cinema ticket at the bar for a free drink.

Attention: The movies are in their original language with Dutch subtitles. Pathé shows movies from all over the world.

Homo Monument

The Homo Monument in AmsterdamThe Homo Monument was unveiled on 5 September 1987, and is located on the Westermarkt.

The Homo Monument commemorates all homosexual men and women who have been, or are still being, persecuted and murdered by government regimes that denounce their very existence.

The monument honours the brave gay men and women who have struggled for freedom and the human rights of people who have a different sexual orientation than was and is considered normal.

Roze Filmdagen

Pink Film Days Amsterdam / Amsterdam Gay & Lesbian Film FestivalDe Roze Filmdagen (The Pink Film Days) are held in cinema Het Ketelhuis, in Culture Park Westergasgasfabriek.

The entire cinema - with three screening rooms, a nice bar and (new this year) food & snacks - will be dedicated to pink cinema. A high quality, broad and diverse selection of gay movies (features, documentaries and many shorts) from all around the world will await you there. With 112 screenings from 32 countries, the selection is bigger than ever. The festival offers many screenings that have never been shown in The Netherlands before.

The vast majority of screenings will have subtitles in English, or be spoken in English. The language of each screening is noted in the programme.
